The Pallas’ cat, also known as the Manul cat, is a type of wild feline found in Central Asia. They have distinct characteristics including wide-set ears, short legs, and round pupils, which make them look quite comical. Even their scientific name, Otocolobus, which means ‘ugly-eared,’ adds to their unattractive appearance. Despite their fluffy appearance, they are actually similar in size and weight to domestic cats. These cats prefer living in high altitudes up to 15,000ft and thrive in cold climates. However, they are not great runners, so they often hide in crevasses under boulders to avoid danger. While they may seem like fun pets due to their expressive faces, they are solitary and wild creatures, and are mostly kept in professional zoos due to their high mortality rate at low altitudes.
