Dolly, a courageous mother dog, was taking care of puppies that were not biologically hers as they came from three separate litters. Despite this, she ensured that all the puppies had a roof over their heads and food to eat. Mitzi Brogdon, the head of Street Dog Rescue & Recovery, spotted Dolly on the side of the road. Dolly had a pleading expression, giving the impression that she needed assistance.
He noticed a dog named Dolly and felt compelled to help. After parking nearby, he approached her and offered love and affection. However, he quickly realized that Dolly needed more than just attention. As he followed her down the road toward a cell tower, he discovered 16 small puppies emerging from behind a fallen log.
Even though the lady has rescued many animals before, the quantity of dogs she encountered was surprising. She expressed, “I’m accustomed to spotting dogs all over Oklahoma, but seeing such a large group was unexpected.”
After some time had passed, Mitzi discovered that the puppies actually came from different litters. This meant that Dolly was caring for puppies that weren’t even biologically hers. However, despite this revelation, Dolly continued to protect and provide for them on her own, keeping them safe from any outside harm. Her actions were considered heroic by many, as she selflessly sheltered these puppies under her care. This information was shared through The Dodo.
Brogdon sought assistance in accommodating his family of 17 members. Due to their large number, they were placed in four different shelters that provide excellent care for them. The family is currently in the process of completing their vaccine program before they can be permanently resettled into a new home.
Despite the fact that much focus has been given to the babies, Mitzi is concerned about Dolly. “He urges potential adopters to take a chance on this older girl who is just as worthy and enthusiastic about finding a family,” she said from her position in the middle.
