Dogs facing disabilities and health issues often face numerous challenges. Unfortunately, many of them end up being euthanized or abandoned by their owners who cannot handle the responsibility of taking care of them. However, it is essential to acknowledge that as long as a dog is not experiencing any pain, they deserve the right to enjoy life and receive love just like any other dog. Fortunately, there are heartwarming stories of these special dogs being given a second chance. One particular pup, who had a physical disability, not only thrived but also became the epitome of happiness, earning the title of the “happiest dog in the world!”
Back in 2016, an intriguing encounter took place when a lady named Jennifer Osborne sauntered into a charming pet emporium. Amidst the eclectic assortment of four-legged pals, her gaze was captivated by a peculiar dog named Moose. Sporting a permanent grin and an impressive underbite, Moose exuded an irresistible charm. Jennifer’s curiosity got the best of her, prompting her to inquire about the cause behind Moose’s unique appearance. Surprisingly, she unearthed the mystifying truth: Moose suffered from a congenital deformity that resulted in missing sections of his brain.
Jennifer informed Metro that Moose’s nose was pushed into his skull during his time in the womb, leading to his under-bite, crooked nose, deformed skull, brain deformity, and issues with his eyes. Despite his medical challenges, Jennifer quickly developed a deep affection for Moose and was worried that he could be euthanized if he ended up with the wrong owner. Therefore, she made the decision to personally adopt Moose and offer him a secure and loving home.
Jennifer was well aware that the journey ahead would not be a walk in the park. Taking care of Moose and his health problems required her full attention. The seizures he experienced were not to be taken lightly, as they had a significant impact on his physical and mental well-being. Jennifer described how these seizures caused his entire body to jerk and even resulted in foaming at the mouth.
To get a clearer picture of Moose’s condition, Jennifer arranged for an MRI scan. The results were disheartening, revealing the gravity of his medical issues. Shockingly, Moose lacked a forehead and proper sinuses, and there was a noticeable absence of brain tissue, instead replaced with a cyst.
Jennifer shared on her Instagram that Moose’s frontal brain has a unique squished shape, unlike anything her neurologist has ever seen in a dog. While this condition may pose some challenges, the rest of Moose’s brain is perfectly healthy.
After thorough examination, it was determined that Moose would continue to experience seizures throughout his life. However, Jennifer was relieved to learn that these seizures could be managed with medication and would not affect his life expectancy.
Jennifer’s love for Moose is unwavering, and she is ready to tackle any difficulties that may arise. She feels incredibly fortunate to have Moose as a part of her life. Despite his medical condition, Moose remains a lively and upbeat dog.
According to a statement given to Metro, Moose’s survival is nothing short of a miracle, considering all he has been through. His grateful demeanor is evident as he roams around with a wide smile on his face, appreciating every precious day of his life. Jennifer, his owner, considers him both incredible and a true blessing in her life. She can’t help but express her gratitude for having the privilege of calling Moose her own, as he is unquestionably the most joyous and content dog she has ever encountered.
We are ecstatic to share that Moose is thriving and enjoying the best days of his delightful existence! Join us in keeping up with the adventures of this playful pup on Instagram.
